We are excited to welcome Taylor Sherman to the team at GWIF! Taylor is a lifelong equestrian who began riding at just three years old at Willow South. Halliea and Taylor first met when Halliea was teaching there. Taylor was thirteen at the time—and quite possibly the thirteeniest thirteen-year-old of all time! In fact, Taylor proved to be an early lesson in patience for Halliea. She still remembers sitting quietly in the arena during Taylor’s group lesson, watching them ride without comment—because they clearly already knew everything and didn’t need any help. Not long after, Halliea shifted her focus solely to GWIF at the John’s Creek campus, and by then she and Taylor had formed a bond. Taylor followed Halliea and officially became a GWIFer. She rode on the IEA team, helped with summer camp, leased and eventually purchased her own horse—all through GWIF. After graduating, Taylor’s first job was right here at the barn, doing chores and helping groom. Eventually, Taylor was ready to expand her education and horizons, which led her to groom for 5* event rider Mary Bess Sigman. She spent several years working with Mary Bess before working for Waylon Roberts and traveling internationally as an FEI groom with the US Eventing team. Most recently, Taylor worked as a barn manager, instructor and in sales at several hunter barns, where she gained invaluable knowledge of another part of the sport.
We are so proud and feel lucky to have Taylor return home to GWIF! You’ll see her wearing many hats as she is such a trusted member of the team. One thing is for sure: no matter what hat she’s wearing, you’ll enjoy being around her. Welcome home, Taylor!
