Mount Vernon IEA Team Shines at Home ShowOn September 20th, the Mount Vernon School’s Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) team, hosted by Go With It Farm, celebrated an outstanding performance on their home turf. Competing against top teams from across the region, the Middle School Team secured the title of Grand Champion, while the High School Team tied for Reserve Champion overall. IEA, a national organization founded in 2002, gives riders in grades 4–12 the opportunity to compete in a team format without the expense of owning a horse. Riders draw horses at random provided by the host farm, testing their adaptability, horsemanship, and riding skills across both flat and jumping classes with limited/no warm-up. The Mount Vernon IEA Team is made up of 20 riders from grades 4 through 12. With their mix of seasoned competitors and first-time team riders, the group has built a reputation for teamwork, sportsmanship, and grit. Adding to the day’s excitement, Go With It Farm’s own Steve earned the coveted Horse of the Morning award, while Collins Zgutowicz was recognized with the Sportsmanship Award—an honor that highlights character, positivity, and support of fellow riders. The show atmosphere was as memorable as the competition itself. Parents hosted a warm and welcoming breakfast hospitality tent, ensuring that riders, coaches, and guests started the day well-fueled. At lunchtime, the crowd enjoyed delicious bites from The Loaded Burger food truck. The September 20th home show brought together riders, coaches, parents, and volunteers, all working together to ensure a seamless and spirited day of competition. Judges and fellow teams alike complimented the Mount Vernon riders not only for their success in the ring but also for their professionalism, hospitality, and quality of horses. With such a strong start to the season, the Mount Vernon IEA team looks forward to upcoming shows with momentum and confidence! Stable View Oktoberfest Recognized Horse TrialThis past weekend, four GWIF riders attended Stable View’s Oktoberfest Recognized Horse Trial in Aiken, SC. Competitors included: Madison & Kitty in the Training Rider Division Collins & Beezie in the Novice Rider Division Raegan & Kory in the Novice Rider Division Macyn & Foxy in the Beginner Novice Rider B Division (placing 2nd in a first outing together! 🥈)
