• October 16th: Make Up Lessons (Huntcliff) - If you ride at our Huntcliff Campus and will miss a lesson in October, this is your opportunity to make it up! Note that makeup lessons are now on Friday evenings.

• October 23rd - 24th: Poplar Place Farm Schooling Show - Open to all students. Please consult your instructor before signing up. We will haul on Friday and compete on Saturday.

• October 23rd - 25th: USEA Bouckaert Farm - Open to leasing/boarding clients with trainer permission. Divisions offered: BN - A; CCSI1*-4*; Closing Date: 10/6

• October 31st: ANNUAL HALLOWEEN SHOW! - Join us for our spooktacular event on the morning of Halloween! ALL riders of ALL ages and ALL levels are invited! See flyer below for more details and sign ups.

• November 7th: XC Schooling - Available to all students capable of jumping 18” course. Please ask your instructor before signing up if this would be your first XC Schooling. Adult supervision and transportation required.

Spooky season is here, and that means it’s time for our annual Halloween Show!  Because this year’s event is ON Halloween, we’ll host a simplified version and get you home in time for your Halloween traditions.

🚪 Barn Tip of the Week 🚪
A Place For Everything & Everything in its Place

Yikes!  Would you want to dig through this mess to find your favorite barn saddle pad to use in your lesson?  Likely not!

The tack and gear in our lesson tack rooms are provided by the barn for everyone to use during lessons. The system only works, though, if the next rider can actually find what they need and the equipment is kept in good condition.

💪 Return it - Wandering tack has a way of becoming lost tack!

👊 Return it to its actual home - Don't just pick a shelf and hope for the best.

👌 Return it neatly - The pic above doesn't quite count. 😉

Let's treat our lesson tack room like the shared resource it is. Please fold, stack, hang, or otherwise put things away so they stay clean, organized, and ready for the next rider. Thank you!

🎉 Rider of the Week 🎉
Bennett Rubinas

Bennett started riding as a brand new beginner in August 2023 and, in just over three years, has come a long way!  He has always been an animal lover, so his passion for riding also includes learning about the horses themselves and being involved in their care.  One of Bennett's favorite things about GWIF is the community. He has built a group of barn friends who share his interests and he loves getting to see them several times a week!

When it comes to Bennett's favorite horse, there is no need for the question: MARTY.  Bennett has leased Marty for the past two years, and they have become quite the partnership. The confidence Bennett has gained during their time together has made a huge difference in his riding. Marty has taught Bennett that when he takes the lead and assertively asks for what he wants, Marty is ready to do exactly that — and do it well!

Taylor and Wren nominated Bennett for Rider of the Week, and it’s easy to see why! Bennett arrives at the barn with a big smile, a happy attitude, and the kind of positive energy that makes his lessons so much fun to teach. They especially love seeing how much Bennett truly loves Marty. The bond the two have built is evident every time they ride together.

Bennett and Marty are getting ready for a new adventure: their first schooling show together at the end of October. For now, the goal is simple — enjoy the experience, learn lots, and get that first show under their belts. We wish them the best of luck!
